Who is Wes Janson?

Wes Janson is a character from Star Wars. He first appeared in the film The Empire Strikes Back and was played by Ian Liston.

He is a wise-cracking smart-mouth, an experienced rear gunner and a hotshot pilot. He may have only had a couple of lines in the film, but his character has been greatly expanded upon by authors such as Michael Stackpole and Aaron Allston.

Needless to say he is my favourite Star Wars character and responsible for introducing me to the internet. I first used search engines to try and discover more about this character, and where I could find information on his life and career. Unfortunately, what little there is I could only really glean from reading the books and comics; and so this page gathers together what I have learnt so that I can share it with those who may also be interested.

A few years ago there existed a fantastic website at rebelpilots.com. Sadly this site no longer exists. I am grateful to the ex-owner of that domain (with whom I unfortunately lost contact) for all the help he gave me and for hosting a wonderful community.

All the images on the site were scanned in from the X–wing Rogue Squadron graphic novels, published by Dark Horse and Titan Comics.
